Four seasons with Christ
Four seasons with Christ
by Joel Howard
I was born into Winter
Seeds empty and bare
The soil was frozen
And my heart heavy there
There was no life inside me
Like a tomb I was dead
Lost and hidden with Christ
Then the Springtime arrived
And my heart softened soon
The leaves grew within me
The seeds grew there too
I had deepened and blossomed
Each day life began
Resurrecting with Christ
Arriving in Summer my joy
increased more; filled now with
dancing, with laughter and praise
People gathered for miles
Just to hear my heart's song
This journey had lasted so long
Here in the brightness with Christ
Three seasons were plenty
I thought there were no more
I had forgotten they'd beaten and
crucified the Lord; and if Jesus
had suffered then I'd suffer too;
Jesus has counted me worthy
To fall down before persecutors
Emptied of all that I have
In the Autumn with Christ
There were days that I thought would never end
And nights that brought me much sorrow
Deeper still is the joy that I've found in You, Friend
Through seasons of change
This journey has made me new...
Here in the winter and springtime and summer,
Here in the autumn with You
Here in the winter and springtime and summer,
Here in the autumn with You
